Teach Soap

I know that sounds weird, so let me just start off by saying that it's a food grade cocoa butter that I got at a grocery store

I just had to ask because even though I got it for soapmaking, I tried a little bit... and it's freaking delicious.

Yes! I had it in food recipes long before I ever even thought of making my own soap. I have to say that I dont eat my food grade cocoa butter that I bought for soaping though, if I did, I would probably not have enough left for soaping! So it stays in the craft room and I just ...walk on by....

I have! I bought a large chunk of cocoa butter last year without thinking about the local triple temps during shipping. My cocoa butter arrived melted. I smelled like chocolate for a while as I tried not to waste any cocoa butter that was in the shipping bag. I did lick my fingers when I was done.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Years ago I was about to give a lecture and my throat was so dry and scratchy and I asked for some water, and I had a Russian lady come up to me and give some "Russian Cocoa Butter" to eat. She said it would coat my throat and get me through. It was strange, but she told me it would help my scratchy throat so I could speak. How and why she just happened to be carrying CB in her purse is still a mystery, and although I didn't particularly like the feel / taste of it, it certainly worked!

okay dokay, so i ate some of my cocoa butter...it was so so...but I did wonder about adding it to brownie mix instead of cooking oil...what cha think?

I'ved tasted once, I hated it. Food grade and regular.

I think the trick is to only taste a tiny amount. When I first tried it, I only sampled a sliver. It was sweet although a bit dry, and I liked the light consistency. I tried it again the other day (same stuff as the first time) but in a slightly smaller amount... and really didn't like it. I wonder what it'd be like to bake with, as they recommend on the label.

I personally wouldn't, I didn't have it for the taste! I guess it wouldn't be a lot different to Crisco but I wouldn't think it would add to the flavor of your cookies but wouldn't detract either.
