Teach Soap

So in the world of MP, are folks finding that they sell more layered or more molded?

I don't do layered, so molded is what sells for me.

Well molded totally won out at yesterday's sale. I think I only sold one layered. People did not look through them though past the sample. Clearly I need to display them better. I wonder if they would have done better at that show if it was only molded. It was also a lot of gift buying yesterday.

Molded won again!Now on the one hand that is very validating. I did buy a lot of molds right away in the beginning and clearly they were good purchases. I am disappointed though because the molding gets boring compared to the swirling but I have over a hundred swirled bars. I did give them a bigger part of the display this time and that did get them more attention but only a couple sales. So I don't know. I don't know if a price change would help. I've thought about seeing if they would sell better as a set with wooden soap dishes, changing the price, even see if they went at a little sale if they were all on their own.

In this area there are other soap makers- nice, well made Cp, but very plain with really no decorative features. So my decorative soap has been a hit with some folks because of that. I suppose there will be more decorative folks soon.
