Teach Soap

Hi! I have noticed that some soap companies that I have purchased from ship some products "naked" with only a cigar band. Yet a couple of the soaps were wraped in a tissue paper, then had the cigar band over that. I am wondering why this would be? The soaps were all the same size. I have noticed this with other soap companies before. Do some EO's require the tissue paper to absord moisture?

I think the way you present your soaps is just personal preference. Once the soaps have cured fully they don't really need to be wrapped. I've purchased some that were wrapped in squares of calico fabric and then cigar banded, and some that had no wrapper at all. If they are going to be handled a lot, it would probably be better to wrap them in something.

I agree. It's a personal preference. I prefer soap boxes. Cigar bands can loosen over time, making the soaps look shop worn. I tried tissue paper, but unless it's white, the tissue paper can stain the soap.

I also am not a fan of cigar wrappers, if the soap shrinks over time, its not appealing.

I wrap my soap in butcher scale paper aka grease paper that I stamp. I LOVE stamping, although time consuming its my relaxation therapy.

Tissue paper and coffee filters can also easily become soiled looking over a period of time. I have used round coffee filters to cover round soaps and they work great at first, but over a period of time, they abosrb oils and collect dust.

Is there a shrink wrap that has micro holes in it for CP?

Does anyone use waxed paper to wrap their soap or know if that would work?

Not a big fan of wax paper, over time it looks "scratched".
