Teach Soap

my soap has the whole bohemian earth vibe, right now i have on hand chocolate coconut, tomato african black, and cocoa butter nag champa...

my soaps are packaged in quarter lb french fry glassine bags and labled with 2x4 avery lables. My soaps sell very well in the artsy area and at a local flea market.

I just got invited to a very upscale event, I'm talking bout where one might by a real coach bag type location. I don't want to revamp my look but what can I do to look more professional?

also I cover my table in african print cloth and have a handwritten sign...

Do you have a pic of what your soaps packaged look like now?

have a sign printed with your company name and logo.

I would say that your soap and labels should stay the same, they invited you with them the way they are, but that you should get a more professional sign. Banners and the like can be viewed at vista print or other such on-line print shops, so you can easily design your own. Even if you stay with the campy signage, it should be professionally printed so they will laugh at your joke, not think you are one. IMHO.

I agree with Tammy and Ljm, always stay true to yourself. With that said you still want a professional look, and if you are selling 100+ bars of soap per month you are a soap professional! Did you ask the organziers if they were expecting something specific from you? Or do they have guidelines on how they ask you to display? Are there others already set up in this spot.... take a look at there displays... not that you have to copy them but get a feel for the style. Best of luck on this new adventure!!

thankyou for all the great advice. I am going to order a banner in plain writing but big "phillysoaps" (maybe on and angle) "handmade skin-loving soap".

Then I'm going to have my campy sign with the baby laminated and on a placard holder 8x11 landscape and have it next to my printed prices $5 a bar, 3 for $12.

I'm going to line up 1/2 of my inventory, naked as i usually do and at the rea of each line of soaps have sealed and labled soaps.

My daughter is working on my personal image, and I'ma go afro-bohemian. OMG I am sooooooo excited

Everything went lovely. I had my soaps signs laminated. No one really laughed at the campy sign but these were downtowners on lunch break. I was so busy i never sat down.

I did some wrapped and some naked and it worked out great!
