Teach Soap

I have a bag of Xanthan gum and don't know what to do with it. Does anyone know? I know that this the vegan alt to gelatin. Besides trying to formulate a shower jelly recipe, I have no idea! Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Thank you!

Did you try using the Search feature on this forum? It will pick up every post with the words Xanthan Gum. It's a very strong search engine in my opinion. You can also contact your supplier where you got the xantham gum from and they can tell you what it is used for and the usage rates.

You can use it in lotions to thicken it up if it's more watery then you had wanted it. I mix mine with heated water. Make sure as SOON as the Xanthan gum hits the water that you stick blend immediately and for at least 5 min, otherwise you can end up with lumps of it in your product. Other then lotions, I'm not exactly sure where it's used in cosmetic processes. I know they use it in a lot of things we eat or drink, sodas to hot sauces.
