Have any of you had experience with Smelly Jelly (some call it Aroma Ice)? I saw it on several of the vendor sites I purchase from. Looks like it would be fun to make.

I sell diffusers and they always do well at craft sales. And, the fragrance oils seem to go on forever. I'm wondering if the fragrance would be as long-lasting with the Smelly Jelly/Aroma Ice?

I've stopped selling them. Even with a preservative at max amount, they grew mold.

But I do live in hot Palm Springs. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Just popping in to say that someone commented on my Facebook Page about smelly jellies and mentioned that when they used distilled water, they didn't get mold. So there's at least one person getting good results with the concept.

If it were me, even if I was using distilled water, I'd still be using Germaben II at 1%. Mold is no fun for anyone.

=) As for you warm weather folks, it's currently 35 degrees outside. Ah, what I wouldn't give for 60 ...

I've done smelly jelly with distilled water and a little preservative and never had mold. Doesn't have a great throw, but it's an easy project.
