Teach Soap

My fiance so very nicely made me some wooden soap molds but made the bottom piece that the sides hinge to out of TREATED WOOD !!!! The sides are untreated. (Headsmack) Is there any way I can still use them? Maybe leave them empty and put them in the oven for a while to bake away the "treated" aspect of them? I don't want to have to throw them away because it took him forever to get around to making them in the first place since he works so many hours at his job. I specifically told him "untreated" wood and he got it half right lol. Poor thing. Is there anything I can do to be able to still use them for my hpop?


Nevermind. My neighbor had some extra untreated and gave it to me. Thanks anyway. What a great way to introduce myself with a true noob mistake that my fiance made. I am so embarrassed but it gave someone a laugh maybe. Bet he doesn't do that again.

I would use them for CP soap. I wouldn't put the mold in the oven as whatever the wood is treated with could degass in the oven.

The bottoms of the wooden molds I have from bramble berry are treated, so I think it's fine. Just line them with freezer paper, or your usual method.
