Things that make me go hmmm....so I had to ask.

This first one is for business owners: 1. If there's one thing you wish you had known about the soapmaking business before you started, what would it be, and why?

2. What is your absolute can-not-do-without soapmaking tool (besides a mold)? Favorite colorant? Fragrance? I can't go without soap cutter now that I have one...and I'm loving the Brazilian clays so far. And as far as frags for me, I love love love BB's Energy and I just used NGC's Chanel No. 5. I have to smell these two every time I'm near the soap curing rack.

There are many "tools" that are necessary, but what makes soap making most fun are the molds that I can use to make my soap toppers. Today I will make strawberries... in winter I made olives, flowers, bubbles etc.
My favorite all around fragrance...just can't be without.... is of course, leather!

No one favorite color, but my favorite additive is dried calendula petals. I am getting ready to plant this years crop to replenish my supply.

Thanks Irena & Susie for your input. I am so glad that I can pick your brains a little with my questions. It's just interesting to see how others respond.

1. Keep the labels simple with easy-to-read fonts (what was I thinking with those early ones?)
Don't make every single product that catches your eye.

2. Can't live without: a couple of really high quality scales, and work tables that are raised in height to prevent backaches!
