I'm sorry I'm only seeing this topic for the first time now but you have my congratulations on a beautiful grandbaby as well as my positive thoughts and energy toward his and his mother's full health.

As soon as my son got off work, he went to be with the baby. The hospital will not allow my DIL to have the baby in her room, yet there must be one parent present with the baby at all times. The baby is in pediatrics with an antibiotics IV. MY DIL is in her hospital room with an iron supplement IV.

Oh, Irena, I can tell it's taking a toll on you, but you've always seemed to have your head on your shoulders. Talking with the hosp. admins about financial situations is very important; most times patients just skip out on their bills, and the admins would rather work with people. Alot of times there are grants and such to help people out like your DIL and son, as long as they are willing to ask about them. Churches are a good resource. If the baby will need to be be hosp., or be near the hosp., is there one of those houses that provide housing for patients familys for nominal fees? (sorry for spelling-ants are attacking and I'm hurryign to get away from the the lil suckers!)

I'm so sorry to hear abaout prob. w/dr-alot of dr won't admit there are other ways besides their own way to cure/help, and it is so frustrating!!! After spending most of the past 2 yrs. in hosp and dr. offices because of hubby, I can understand your frustration. Is there anohter dr to see baby and mom? drastic step, but what is more important?

You're right. It is beginning to take its toll on me. Son talked to the admin office earlier today at my urging. There is an office in another town that might be able to help him. He will need to go there, then pick up and fill out their paperwork. I'm tired, but my son must be worse.

A good night's rest can work wonders. If not that, a hot shower or bath, then a good rest in a prone position iwth a good book.

So sorry to hear this, soapbuddy. Take care of yourself. Seriously. When my nephew was born prematurely with underdeveloped lungs he was in neonatal intensive care for almost a month. My sister was having a very hard time. She was emotionally and physically exhausted. In order to be there for her, I had to stay peaceful and calm and try to distance myself from the emotion as well as all of the negatives and stay focused on a positive outcome. Easier said than done.

I know this is a tough situation. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, too.

I don't really know what to say during a stressful time such as this, but I am thinking of you, your family, and Baby Ivan, too. I'm so sorry that you all are having to go through this.

Oh, Soapbuddy. I've never been to this part of the forum before, but glad I wandered here now. Congratulations to you and your family. Grandma looks happy and young and Ivan cute and comfortable. I'm sorry to learn about all of these concerns coming at such a happy time. The good side is that the problems are being addressed, and I'll cross my fingers that they will be but a memory soon. Blessings to you and your growing family, you're all in my thoughts today.
