I've been "making" (er..designing, cause they're melt & pour) soaps for about a month for my upcoming July wedding. I'm using the 3D wedding bells mold from BB.
I'm having a really small wedding, and I've got a ton of fragrance now, so I've decided to have a "soap bar". I envision just several basket displays with the "fruity", "floral", and "sweet" scents separated from each other into their own baskets, and the with separate "masculine" scented soaps in a different basket also. I'm kind of going overboard with this, but hey, it's fun, and I need to use up a lot of fragrance, so whatever. I've got all different colors too: solids, two tones, and swirls.
I bought 9 by 11 inch boxes off ULINE..which were about $2 each. They have clear tops. I also bought that basket "shred" stuff. I figure people can pick out 3 or 4 soaps each and put them in the boxes themselves....like making themselves a little present...which worries me a little 'cause I guess it's kind of tacky.
I have also made little half-sphere "scent samples", so when people are choosing their soaps from the soap bar they can make sure they like the scent of any given soap (they're all shrink-wrapped).
I know ppl on wedding forums scream about "no, what about your sensitive skin guests??!!" but I don't care. I don't think any of my guests are the fussy types about scented soaps, and if they are, they can leave them. More for me. I'll just remelt them and give away as xmas presents. lol.
