For wooden loaf molds you could make wooden dividers for each bar. Of course if you're making a lot of soap at a time, that might be a lot of work.

Robin, would something like this work? This wooden mold has a cutting slot that makes one-inch thick bars. The sides detach so you can slide your soap through and cut. Even though you'd still have to cut the bars, this makes it easier to get more uniform bars so your cuts are less wonky.

The mold pictured above is basically the same as using a miter box. I think a miter box would be less expensive than that type of mold, but I've been known to be wrong! I use a miter box and a drywall taping knife to cut my soap.
