Hi All,
I'm new here and this is my first post ... I found the board due to this thread. Okay, I have my labels all ready to print and I've read through all of the fine print at our U.S. Food & Drug Admin. and I think I've got it pretty well understood in regard to soaps, cosmetics, drugs. Except, for a couple of things and I'm sure it may also be a questions in the minds of others.
For instance, the use of essential oils in soaps that "do something" ... I wonder if those are considered then "active ingredients" and deserve the special notation.
Also, I didn't think that the number of the rule/procedure/publication (whatever) had to be on your label ... is that a necessity or simply an addition if you wish?
As I said, I've read through pages and pages, retaining vitals and most likely forgetting some, but I am reading this as to say that if an essential oil is used other than as a fragrance (i.e., with a claim of some sort, such as an antibacterial), then it would need to be shown first as an "Active Ingredient" ... any input here would be most handy!
Thanks!
