When I am pondering which gadget to buy, I will often go to the websites of the major manufacturers to see which one I like best. Is there a forum where I can discuss issues with my gadget? How easy is it to find FAQs, customer service contact information, etc? Are there tutorial videos the help me use my gadget?

I think at the lower price point, digital cameras are pretty similar. Go with a brand that has good customer service, a website you like to navigate, and well written user manuals (most are on line so you can read them).

Having said that: I have a Canon Powershot I am very happy with. I had to return my first one due to a problem with the sensor, but Canon was pretty efficient in getting me a second one with no flaws.
