Teach Soap

I love the holidays! I slept until 8:40 this morning!! I haven't done that in a LONG time. Felt VERY good, too.
I'd better get going now. Have things to get done for tomorrow!

There is sooo much in this world to be thankful for that it can overshadow the things that make us sad if we let it.
I am very thankful I learnt how to make soap....it has enriched and cleaned my world.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Laura that is a LOT of potatoes! But I think Linda has a great idea. It really is much easier to leave the peel on and yukons are DELICOUS! I just finished the homemade cranberry sauce. So yummy.
12 oz bag of fresh cranberries
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp Gran Manier (optional but yummy)
Bring the water, oj, and sugars to a boil. Dump in the cranberries and turn down the heat. Cook the till cranberries pop and are mushy. Take off the heat. Add the Gran Manier and mash together. Put in a heat proof dish to cool to room temp then refrigerate until time to serve. Will thicken as it sets.

Susie you are so right too! We need to remember all the things we should be thankful for....big and small.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I used to do all that stressing for the big meal with 30 or more. Now that I've moved to the country we don't do the big party, but I still love to cook. I make all the food: pre- turkey snacks, turkey and fixins, and dessert. I try to have everything ready by about noon. Then my boys and mom and I just eat all day in our jammies and watch movies. Martha Stewart would be very disappointed in me but that's the way we like it. We've scaled back to just what's important. The parade in the morning, the food, and lots of cuddling on the couch. Hope everyone gets to relax enjoy just what they love tomorrow

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Thanks for the recipe, Lisa. It's very similar to mine except I never thought to put brown sugar in it. Laura, hope your mashed potatoes are great and easy! WildChick, it sounds like a great Thanksgiving to me.
