Teach Soap

Yeah I have the trial of Filemaker Pro and while I was able to set up the fields and such, it was frustrating to try and get it to do what I want and display the way I wanted.

I've ended up just going with Wordpress for now and manipulating the category and tag fields. Not quite what I wanted, but better than sitting here frustrated.

As an aside to this thread: If anyone is interested in a great program that is compatible with Microsoft Office products and is totally free, take a look at Open Office: http://www.openoffice.org/product/index.html

I've used this program for several years on my home computer and never had a problem. Coolah, if you still have your PC, you could install this and use the database program that is like MS Access.

Hey, I forgot to ask my SO to look at this yesterday, but here's what they think on the subject:

+1 for Access, except that you're on a Mac. Any chance of running a virtual Windows installation? That seems to be popular with the people I know that use Macs. Access would really be exactly what you need; if you can find something like that for a Mac, do that or run a virtual machine. Short of that, your next best option would be something web-based, though I don't think you want a CMS like WordPress unless you're planning on developing your own plugins for it. WordPress in its vanilla form really isn't meant to do anything too involved, it's not really an application platform designed to perform serious functionality. Even with plugins, you really can't expect much from it.

Bottom line: try to get some form of Access running on your computer, it'll be the fastest and most flexible way of accomplishing your project goals (unless you know/learn a programming language like PHP.)

Thanks for asking. Wordpress is actually doing just what I need for now without any addition plug ins.
