Hi All,
Back when I had a full time job and bees were a hobby, I used a system called "Getting Things Done" to keep work projects moving along and on time. Now I have a daughter, a business, two volunteer gigs, and a life far more complicated that it was as a mere full-time worker with a few hobby colonies! So I'm back to looking for project and task management software, systems, and strategies that keep it all straight, and keep things from falling through the cracks. I'm trying out paper and online versions of Getting Things Done to see if they work in this new life, but was wondering what other people do.

I use a lot of sticky notes; online and offline.

One thing I use is the Freedom Filer system - it helps control the amount of paperwork I have while I work on going "paperless". I also like to watch / get tips from a professional organizer by the name of Alejandra Costello. Just google her name and you'll see links - I like her YouTube vids. She offers some great advice.

When I worked full time and had 3 kiddos to run all over the place, and was very active in our church music ministry, I used to keep a small day planner with me at all times. It was much easier for me to jot something down on the fly than it was to whip out the Palm Pilot and try to enter stuff. The planner also allowed me to quickly check my scheduule, the kids schedule, etc. It was a lifesaver on more than one occasion! :D

I've pretty much a notebook and pen type of gal throughout my soapmaking journey but recently I've gotten back to using Evernote. I started using them when they first came out but stopped because there wasn't enough features - but now they have gotten so much better. I can write out my recipe and once I'm done making the soap I can take a picture of it and upload it to the notes and recipe.

To take a photo of the soap (usually I do) and have it with the recipe in a computer file is a neat idea. I think I have evernote on my nook but did not like it... maybe I should unarchive it!

Thanks for all the ideas! I'm trying a paper-based system now, but not having much luck. The family calendar is in Google, and if mine is separate on paper, that makes for trouble when my husband schedules things. Has anyone tried any of the GTD systems at Tiddlyspot?
