If part of your display for a show includes a table, do you use a skirt?

How do you make the top part of the skirt, that which actually goes around the table? Do you just have a plain band? Do you gather the material on a cord? Maybe fastening the overlapping ends with Velcro?

Any other ideas? (I'm going fabric shopping today! )

Much easier then the velcro kind. You could always put a table topper over it if you want a different design or color.

I would think you would want a skirt on the table... hides all the stuff you need to keep on hand and what ever you had to carry your soaps in. That would help to keep your site tidy and clean looking. And the soap is all about the clean, right?
If you can sew, you could easily make one - either pleat the corners or gather them.

several years ago I ran a booth selling imports from India and Bali. I stapled burlap to the table tops and then grass skirts for table skirts. After the show, we would pull them off and put them in a flat under the bed type storage box to keep them straight. The burlap was left on between shows. It was cheap and exotic looking.
