Hey gang,

I am on vacation up at Cape Cod. Our family rented a house for 2 weeks. Around the one side of the house there is LOTS of Lavender blooming.

I wanted to know when should Lavender be removed to be used in M&P soap as an exfoliant?

Lavender will pick up any moisture from your soap. It won't be much of an exfoliant. It also turns poopy brown over time. You can use coffee grounds, ground loofah, steel cut oatmeal or dried and ground orange peel. Or make salt soap.

Try picking the blooms in the early mornings, drying them, and then throwing some into your bath water to create a nice soak. Add some oatmeal and you will have a wonderful, skin softening and aromatic soak!

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

You can use the oats from the big ole quaker guy, just make sure they arent instant oats, they get way to slimey to do much good.
