By the time you get the crappy stuff at the craft store, you would have wasted money which could have gone into ordering better products or ingredients. I do agree that oils from the grocery store should be fine.

While I have not tried either Michaels or Hobby Lobby's FO's, I do know that hobby lobby carries one brand (I think its called crafty bubbles) which is made by an Ohio craft store. Since I used to buy my EO's directly from them, I do know that their quality is very good, even if I did notice that they charged way more at HL than I paid for them at the store itself. For off-line, small quantities, I don't see too many alternatives if you can't find a local business.
