Teach Soap

I know some of you have been making soap for years and have your ( cost per bar ) down to an art form. What is a good cost per bar ( ordering in bulk) with a simple formula, nothing fancy,
Or what is a good cost per bar to make? Mine keeps inching lower from ordering in ever larger sizes.
When will I know I've done the best I can?

I know for example that when I try a new FO the cost of that small batch will always be more beacuse I buy the 1 oz. size. Fos in the 1lb. size are much less. (Per batch of soap)
Sometimes I can score olive oil at the outlet for 10.60 for a 101 oz. can. So I'll buy a bunch. I've looked at the prices of some EOs and cant figure out how you guys are making patchouli and chamomile soap at all.
Thats why I can't seem to nail down exact cost to make soap. It changes every time I buy materials.
My business has really been good . I 'll just keep shopping for the best prices I can find , keep trying to make the best soap I can and figure the rest will take care of it self.

The Soapmaker3 program will do it all for you . Very user friendly . Once you get everything set up , it is a snap to add to inventory etc . It is the best soap making "tool" I ever bought .

This is pretty cool. I didn't go around and review all the details yet but do you think it's more geared towards cold process? or is it written in such a way that m/p crafters can use it but there will be some areas/aspects that just won't be applicable?

i use it, and i do MP. i just adjusted some of the entries in the program, and added my own stuff. it works nice.

and here i've been doing all of mine in excel. i suppose if you're an office nerd, it works ok but now i think I might just have to try this thing. looks spiffy!
