If you can figure that question out, let me know, lol! I'm so happy when I have one sale, you would think I made a million dollars! Get involved with a street team, Twitter, Facebook, any of the social networking stuff. it's alot of work, and can get time consuming and frustrating; it's not easy, but you get what you put in. I am part of the SAFEteam, which you can find if you do a search on Etsy-is pretty supportive and we try our darned-est to uphold regs to the best of our abilities. You know, labeling issues and such. We try to look ahead to see what will be happening next, labeling-wise for instance, and start doing them, so that way if something does go into law, we're there and no worries. If doing a street team isn't for you, no biggie, because this forum is pretty up to date with alot of what is going on in the bath/body industry and lots of support. This forum is where I first came when I started, and I'm back (well, never really left ), because the info and support is just awesome!

Awhile back I did get my id on twitter but just put it aside. I was never one of those 'early adopters' but I'm seeing where/how twitter can assist my cause now that I actually have a site and products BTW - I just tweeted you to follow you. Just awaiting your 'acceptance'. I could see where you have to carve out time daily or some time during the week to keep getting the msg out on-line through various venues/social networking sites and so forth as you indicate. I do have a large network contact list on Linked in - so I'm working on a brief but fun update to let everyone know of my new endeavor and website. People always want to know where one goes after a 15 year career into something so non-corporate - I can just hear them saying "you went from technical project manager to crafting soap - I didn't know you made soap' - I"m looking forward to that communication out!!

It's not easy but it sure is fun and energizing!!

On the note about Paypal and making labels. I did not have that figured out on my first purchase so it was all hand done on the bubble mailer. I do know that if you print labels via USPS for the small flat rate envelope on-line the cost is $4.80 *and* you can get a delivery confirmation free with that. I havn't researched how the usps payment connects with paypal (if that is possible) but it's possibly another option. Anyone use USPS for printing mailing lables?

I have used both USPS and Paypal for printing labels. USPS will charge your card as the only option. I usually use PP, as I have a little money in that account and don't have to use a debit or credit card.

Okay - I've posted all my soaps up to now. Made some adjustments to the sections and got a handle on shipping, labels, etsy/paypal and even refunds. I could not be at this point if it wasn't for everyone's help on this forum. Great suggestions and respectful feedback.

Seems like now I can turn my attention to new ideas/designs/fragrances for holidays (and make another loaf of "groovy day" since I ran out and I feel like that is kind of a signature loaf/slice (it is the slice on the banner and my avatar image) for me! - and begin really marketing and getting people to know about my business. I'm going to be low key for a few more weeks since I'll be on vacation the later 1/2 of August and will shut the store down - but when I come back - I want to be right at the starting gate with my marketing/communication plan and a plan to also be in another well respected local faire here in Berkeley come October called "A Spice of Life".
