Teach Soap

I make cold process soap, nothing else, but my markets and shows are taking off, which is great, yes? I can see myself getting into the situation where I run out of product, my soap ages for 3 or 4 weeks depending on the 'variety'. I have thought about bulking out my range with bath bombs, lotions, things like that, but I have zero experience making them and would be reluctant to use ready made bases. Any advice? Please?

it doesnt hurt to try something new. you might just enjoy it as much as making soap. plus it gives you something to tinker with while soap is curing.

also, people like variety. advertising "something new" mite peek their interest.

You could start with bases til you feel comfortable making your own.
There are also many recipes here, so if I was you I would experiment with these and see how you like them.

If Im running a little short of soap for a show I make up gift baskets. ( I always take some to shows.)They take up space, look nice and you'll probably sell some .

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm going to make liquid soap, bubble bath, shampoo etc. It still has to sit, but only for 2 weeks rather than 4.

Congrats on your decision to expand your line. Like others have said, you will have fun in the process and customers seem to like a variety of things.

I've expanded to body butter, lip balm, cream (although I do use a nice pre-purchased, paraben-free base), sugar scrubs, and diffusers. My diffusers sell like hot-cakes and I'm thankful to have them at the shows - they really help boost sales! I've been really tempted to try my hand at bath bombs, too...
