why does everyone hate LUSH? everytime i see a soaper talk about the company it is very critical and negative or they refuse to say the name. Why?

Because they mislead the consumer. They talk about "natural" then use synthetic ingredients. They have creative advertising, which lures in potential customers.
I can't go in their store any more. It gives me a headache from the strong smells. The store I went to had dusty and dirty products and the salespeople were pushy.
It looked like some of the products have sat for a while. They are also overpriced.

As said above I think that soap shop it is very misleading.....natural! No!

Handmade.....I think they are made by hand, but all their ingredients are not what I like.
Great gimick.

I am fascinated by Lush. It is extremely overpriced however they do have a lot of overhead in the fancy malls. However I just can't bring myself to pay $8 for a bath bomb. I find the sense intriguing especially since some of them are based on Bubblegum fragrance. I tried mixing a bubble gum fragrance oil with vanilla Jasmine and Oak Moss. It made an interesting combination and I'm going to try to refine it. I am fascinated by the ingredient sorbitol in their soaps. There's soaps tend to look like melt and pour but they don't behave like MP soap. I wish I could charge $12 for 4 ounces of my soap. As a business person my hat is off to them even though I know their stuff is not truly better than mine.

Ha! Lush is the reason I'm now researching the art of soap and bath/body products to make for my family.

I'll admit I love the place, my sons' sparked my interest once they started to buy their products, my 19 year old having minor acne found something that seemed to work like a miracle on him, but the cost....Oh it just makes me sad to see him spend his hard earned money on something that I know he won't go without. Of course I'm new to all of this, and judging by all the supplies I'd need to DIY some of their well loved products in my family, I'm just going with the "you get what you pay for" motto.

Even my 6 year old daughter is hooked, and I'll treat her to a bath bomb every few weeks for good behavior, or good kindergarten reports. She'll be super excited tomorrow morning, as I purchased one of her faves (FUN) and a few other items to fill up her Easter basket.

Hopefully by this time next year, I'll happily post that I made some pretty awesome things to gift my family, and myself.

I'm very thankful for this community, I'm learning so much.
