Teach Soap

Hello everyone!
I recently made my first batch using CPOP method and it was a success! But a week and a half later my oven still smells of the FO I used in that batch! Has anyone experienced that? Will the smell go away? I am not keen on eating roast pork smelling like fresh cotton Do you use the same oven for cooking and CPOP right? Or do I have to have a separate oven for soapmaking?

This is EXACTLY why I do not CPOP!!

I tried it once, and my oven smelled like (in my case) eucalyptus for a week!! It was awful and I was furious.
I had to air it out, and also used trays of baking soda..still took a week.

Never again!!!!!!!!!!!

If I need to force gel, I use heating pads - place the moulds on top of them and cover with blankets.

So it is not just me! I thought I have done smth wrong! Yeah, I had to leave the oven fan going for quite a while before putting food in it. I guess I have to come up with some other idea on how to force gel. Wrapping it in towels results in partial gel.
Anakiya do you get full gel using heating pads?

Yes, absolutely - even with recipes that I soap pretty cool and are typically hard to gel.

I get the same problem , I use the kitchen in the basement and its now officially the only thing that goes into that oven , the smell ruins the taste of t meat . I had one roast that the soap taste was horrible . My dogs were happy bu come to think of it they gave me a weird look every time I offered them a piece of that meat

I might suggest a small toaster oven for soap even one bought cheap in a garage sale or at a chariety shop
