I thought I would try rebatching and I followed the process but the soap never got to the smooth gel like consistency after two hours I checked it every twenty minutes and I finally put it in the mold and after two days it is starting to get firm is that normal I used. I lb of soap and 3 oz of almond milk

For 1 lb. of soap for rebatch, you have too much liquid in there. Rebatched soap will never be smooth gel like consistency again. The texture is more like applesauce or mashed potatoes when it's cooked.

You need very little liquid for rebatched soap. Just enough to moisten it. All you might need is a tablespoon.
