Teach Soap

May I ask if you think this recipe would work well for a base recipe? Lard 60%, OO 8%, Coconut oil 76 deg 25%, Soy oil 5%, castor 2%. Water 30.4 oz, Lye 11.4 oz, frag 5 oz. Tot oil wt 80 oz. Soap wt before hp cook 7.929 lbs. I sure hope this fits in my crock. Will be the most lye I've had to use ever in one batch. Used soapcalc.
What is the max oils I may add at the end with my frags etc if I wanted any extra superfatting without messing up my batch because I will be using herbs and spices for coloring infused into the extra oils. Or am I supposed to take out some of the oils out of my 10% (above in the oil totals) for ex if I wanted to use OO for my infusion; and do I cook the recipe without it so I can add it at the end? I am having trouble trying to remember about using superfatting oils for infusions and if I'm supposed to weigh them out separately other than my original 10% OO in oil totals. ??? It is hard soaping with permanent brain damage lol. I have post it notes all over my house to remember minor things. I'm sorry if I've already asked this before. My rememberer is broken... I really am brain damaged so no disrespect intended.

Any oils added at trace are fair game for lye, so waiting to add oils until the end doesn't guarantee those will be your superfat oils. I prefer to add all the oils at the same time, less chance I'll accidentally leave something out and wind up lye-heavy.

If you're infusing, you want to pull those oils out of your total. So, in your example, if you're using 80 total oz of oils, you'll be using 6.4 oz of olive oil total. Let's assume you're using two colorants, and you want to infuse them each in 2 oz of oil. If you measure out your 6.4 and add it to the recipe, then infuse your colorants in 4 total oz of oil and add that, you'll wind up with 10.4 total oz of olive oil, throwing your recipe out of whack. But if you add 2.4 oz of olive with the rest of your oils, then split up the remaining 4 oz to infuse your colorants, you're sticking to your recipe.
