I would like to start a small home business selling my homemade beauty products; under MY NAME. I am wondering if this is a bad idea. In the future I would like to operate under a business name, would this affect my clientele?

What are your thoughts and ideas on this one. I am going back and forth thinking about starting off with selling under my name and working under a business name.

I'm not sure because I don't understand why you want to start off under your own name and then switch to a business name later. Start with what you intend to use for the long run because you will be building a customer base under that name. Consider privacy issues before deciding. Good luck!

I would go with business name. Whatever you decide to choose, make sure that it's not already on the net or copyrighted.

In general, I've seen businesses that change their name sometimes catch a lot of flak. Because people get attached to the first name, and then if they don't like the new name they can get all kinds of disgruntled.
