Teach Soap

I've noticed that every time I sit down to make soap I have a headache for a while or sometimes a small migraine. It's started happening since I made my first soaps and I can't figure out what makes my head hurt. I think it might be the fragrance oils since I put the highest safe amount I can (I like strong soaps in the shower )! Does anyone else get headaches when they make soap? Any ideas on how to reduce this (and don't say reduce my fragrance usage. It'll be easier to solve world hunger! )?

Perhaps better ventilation, have a fan moving air away from you? Would an unscented candle nearby (but not TOO near) be dangerous? It might burn off some of the lingering scent in the air? Or maybe plug your nose maybe not.

Wearing something over your nose helps, like a mask or bandana. Overload of any kind of scent (EO's or FO's) can cause many people to get bad headaches.

Ventilation is a super great idea! We still treat some patients with migraines with oxygen therpy! You could look to get a face mask, like the style we wear to protect from TB. Do you get a headache if you stay where your soaps are curing? I would think that having several strong soaps on a curing rack would also be able to provoke a headache, if it is the fragrance.
The other question would be are you getting tense or worried about making the soap? Maybe as you continue to improve in your skills the headaches will decrease, if this is the case.

Certain fo's can give me a headache. Especially Rose. Major Migraine! I tend to stay away from that one.

Here's a thought; go to your local hardware store, a paint store or a car supply store and see if they have a respirator.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Pomegranate cream from NG gives me migraines. And I only have 16oz of it sitting here...
