So, this thought just struck me - If beer can be soaped why cant wine?
I plan to boil the wine to remove alcohol and then use it to mix lye.

Has anyone tried soaping with wine or champagne??

Plz give tips..

I'm a newbie and haven't been brave enough to experiment with alcohol yet but I saw a post on Emily's blog about using Champagne. I know she has used beer and I think wine too. Here's the link:

I soap with wine all the time..... Oh, you mean actually put the wine in the soap.... Nope, haven't done that yet.

Yes you can, but you need to boil off the alcohol, otherwise the soap will seize.

I experimented about a year ago. I boiled off the alcohol. Red wine turns beige (at least all mine did), and it had worse ash than any other soap I've made!
