Teach Soap

Last night, I made my fourth batch of soap and decided to give the no gel a chance. After pour my soap into my mold I placed my soap in the fridge and left it over night. This morning, I noticed some oil and essential oil had leaked through the mold and spread. i didn't cover it when I placed it in. Was I suppose to? I un-mold the soap and sliced my first piece and noticed it was still soft. Do I need to place it back in the fridge to harden or can I left it on my counter for another day before I cut it again. One more question, do I need to wrap the mold with something before I place it in the fridge? Final result, the soap didn't gel which was cool.

Give it some time. There's a good chance that the oil will absorb back in. Soaps that don't gel do start out softer. I do cover my soaps with wax paper, but don't insulate with anything.

@ Irena - This post made me wonder about something I read recently. I remember not long ago you said something about you'd want to gell a batch because of the high percentage of olive oil. I was wondering what oils are better to gel as opposed to not gelling?
