Teach Soap

I made what looked like a beautiful batch of unscented Goat's Milk soap. After 8 weeks of curing the soap is very soothing but doesn't lather very well. Is that my soap, or is that a problem with all Goat's Milk Soap. Maybe I need to tweak my recipe a bit? More Coconut Oil? I used Fractioned Coconut Oil by the way. Does this matter?

Will need to give us a bit of info - what's your recipe? Does it include castor oil?

All my soaps are goat's milk soaps and I have no issues with lather.

Fractionated coconut is not an ideal oil to use for soap. Regular coconut is better and will give you more bubbles.

It's the fractionated coconut oil. Why not use olive or plain coconut instead? There is no guarantee that your shea butter will end up as your superfat. Lye is still very active at trace and it will take whatever it wants. Add ALL your oils and butters right up front.

I have made batches recently using either Fractionated CO or Regular CO. The regular is way better. The batches with fractionated were made over 2 months ago and still soft. The batches with regular are already hard and after 4 weeks are awesome. Great lather and feel on the skin. I would definitely recommend getting some regular co (I find mine at WallyWorld, LouAnn's brand) and using that in place of the fractionated.
