Teach Soap

I was on my way to making an activated charcoal & kaolin clay soap with a fragrance that i've never used before. After adding the fragrance, the mixture appeared to accelerate quickly. So I abandoned my original plan to use the charcoal and clay and immediately put the hardening soap in the mold. This is when it got strange. After pushing the soap into the mold, the soap became liquid again. I didn't know what to do so I just Hot Processed the soap out. I think I saved the soap but I really would like to know what happenned. It was wierd! The recipe that I used I've used several times without incident. The only difference was the fragrance oil.

I've had that happen before. The soap started gelling as soon as it got in the mold. It probably would have been fine without HP'ing it. Just be sure you keep good notes about the FO in case you want to use it again.
