I'm getting ready to use avocado in my soap. Can I freeze the unused portion?? or will it just turn brown?

I would think it would turn brown, at least on the outer portion as it's exposed to air.

I'm thinking it will turn brown, too. We never froze any of them we got from our trees...I think it was because my MIL said you couldn't freeze them. :lol:

My SIL is from San Diego and they are surrounded by avocado trees in her neighborhood. She says you can mash them up, mix them with a dash of lemon juice, and then freeze them in ice cube trays. I tried it when my girls were babies to use as baby food later, and it worked just fine. I think the lemon juice is the key to having it not turn brown.
