Sooo I decided to start my Christmas soaps. A peppermint funnel swirl in my column mold (Thanks Jenny!) and a brownie swirl in my other column mold. I mixed my colours and started to pour... I had about 2 inches in the bottom of the mold and was thinking "wow, peppermint 2nd distillation sure loses its scent fast!". Yep, uh huh, you guessed it. The bottle was sitting right there, unopened. Oops! So MOST of my peppermint swirl is pepperminty! LOL Oops! The brownie one is A-MAZ-ING! OMG it smells SO yummy! And the combination of brownie and peppermint in the workshop *drool* I won't mind those ones smelling up the room as they cure!

Today's lesson: don't forget your fragrance!

I hate when that happens!
Putting the FO bottle in my mold has helped, but it probably wouldn't work in the column mold!

Its a nice 100% GM soap too, so the unscented part will still be awesome! This is the first time I've forgotten to add my fragrance! I did a huge 100oz batch and split it, had a little trouble straining my pudding like lye solution... apparently threw me off my game!

I must get some more aromas. And some more brown glass bottles.

I recommend a peppermint 2nd distillation, its a very nice minty smell but not as overpowering as 1st distillation. I LOVE it!

Glad I'm not the only one! I've forgotten my FO every time! Yes every single time. I get too excited when I start mixing that I just start separating and coloring and playing. I end up putting the FO in mid-pour. Someday I will have a fully fragranced batch I hope!

Brownie sounds amazing. I just tried the BB Snickerdoodle and Buttercream. Oh my gosh, I can't stop sniffing it. I made cupcakes, my first attempt at using a piping bag with soap. They must look good enough because I had to put them on top of the refrigerator to keep my 4yo from poking them. I never busted him trying to lick them though, guessing that would be a mistake he only makes once! I had to keep reminding myself not to lick my fingers while I was making it though.

Ohh let me know how the butter cream and snickerdoodle turns out? I have 4 little sample bottles of it!

The soaps smell awesome today, especially the little brownie and mint stars I made with the extra batter! Will post pictures once I can unmold and cut the logs!

The Snickerdoodle smells absolutely yummy! I'm not always a fan of sweet and this is very sweet but it has depth. I haven't put them into the closet yet to cure because my kitchen smells so good that people will think I actually bake in there. I love it and will definitely order it again. It moves really fast though. I scented just the "cake" portion of the cupcakes because I knew it would discolor. Fortunately I wasn't doing much with it except glopping it into the silicone cupcake mold. It was setting up in the pot before I could get the color mixed into the frosting portion. It went from thin trace to very thick in a couple of minutes. It is discoloring to just about the perfect cupcake color in my recipe. The website says it can go varying shades of pink or tan to brown. Mine looks like a buttery tan so far.

I don't care for the Buttercream & Snickerdoodle by itself, but I blended it with Peppermint FO and Cinnamon Leaf EO and it smells soooo good! It turned a dark brown. :D

LOL, I think I got jinxed...just made a big ol' batch of beuatiful and unscented soap. I was so concerned about getting the color right that I forgot to add the fragrance.

I believe snickerdoodles are actually from England. My Nanna used to make them, and she was English.
