Newbie, and do not fully understand when someone says water discount? Can someone clarify the meaning of it. Thank you!

Water discounting is lowering the amount of water usually called for in a recipe. This can be done down to the bare minimum needed for the lye to be used...i count that min at one ounce more than the lye meaning if the recipe calls for four oz of lye I would count the min water required at five oz. Discounting is done generally when other liquids are used such as milks aloe juice and etc.

Wow I have never used that low of a lye concentration....about 33% is the lowest I have ever done. Does it take longer to trace at those percentages?
