I was given a large tub of PKO. It has never been used, but is at least a couple years old. I opened it. It looks nice and white - solid - doesn't smell bad. I have never used PKO in my soap. Anybody see any problems using PKO of unknown age? Secondly, if it is okay to use - anyone have a good receipe using PKO that they would like to share? Thanks!

Palm kernel has a large % of lauric acid (48%). Its shelf life is 2 years. If it's much older then that, I would start fresh.

Thanks, soapbuddy. I will toss then. She thought it was at least a couple years old, so probably not worth wasting the other ingredients to get a bad batch!
