I didn't see a place for hot process questions, so I thought I'd ask it here.

I am doing some hot process batches, and the edges of my soaps look really funky. They are not smooth and pretty when I take them out of the mold. I went to a festival Saturday and a man there was selling hot process soap and his soaps were so smooth, all the way around.

I am currently using Pringles cans for molds, because I love the size and shape the bars come out as once cut. Any tips on having the soap not "stick" and be "pulled up" when removing the mold would be much appreciated! (How long should I leave it before unmolding it?)

It's possible that the man selling HP soap is actually making CPOP. Make like cold process, pop in the oven til it gels. Let cool, then take out of the mold and cut. I don't use Pringles cans, but a round PVC pipe cut to size.
