Teach Soap

So I am trying to figure out if this is lye heavy. I tried the zap test and so far my tongue did not fall off and no zap. It's weird, it's almost like the TD did not mix well with the oils. Should I just let it cure to see how it works out in the end? I did not insulate it, just covered the top of the column mold with cling wrap and left it do it's own thing on the counter...should I have insulated it?

That looks like it crackled due to the TD and it gelled. TD works the best when it doesn't gel. I think it's pretty!

I posted a picture of a soap where the white area looked EXACTLY like that on BB's facebook page. They told me that one I might not have mixed well enough and 2 that TD has a tendency to expose the glycerin in soap and that they refer to them as Glycerin Rivers.

Would glycerin rivers form little crystals as it dried? It happened to me once with soap I made.

Does it make a difference the type of TD that you use? I used the one that dissolves in water, not in oil.

Mine did not have any crystals in when that happened. I don't think it'll matter what type of TD you use. I think it was Courtney from BB who suggested to try using Super Pearly White Mica instead of TD because it is still white but has less TD since it's a mix of mica and TD. Like Soapbuddy said I was told that it also works best best if you don't gel (which I have always done) so I switched to SPW and haven't had any problems since.
