I want to use some lavender buds in my lavender sopa. What's the best way to do this?

You can use them on top, mix them into the soap batter, or powder them, then add them. Be aware that they will turn brown over time. Mine looked like mice poops.

I found lavender to be very scratchy unless pounded up in the morter or ground up in the coffee grinder. They definitely turn brown.

I use lavender buds in my lavender soap. I first tried them out in MP to see what I thought about them, and I found if I mash them with my mortar and pestel, then take a set of kitchen scissors and cut them up, they come out really well in the soap and aren't too scratchy but do still offer a nice light exfoliation. They will discolor to brown, but with them cut up like this, they don't look unsightly.

Really? Actually I have infused calendula and chamomile. And from calendula there really wasn't not a strong scent but chamomile made my whole place smell beautifully. Then I used this oil infusion making soap and even after 6 weeks of cure my soap smell like chamomile. IDK

Well, I used the lavender buds. I used a coffee grinder and ground up some of the buds and mixed them into the soap. I also left some whole, and sprinkled them on top, more for decoration than anything.

I was able to use one of the soaps this week and I have found that while it did turn brown, it wasn't gross looking because they were ground up. It looked similar to when I use oatmeal in some soaps. It doesn't have quite the same exfoliating effect as oatmeal, but it does provide for some exfoliation.

As far as adding scent, I'm not sure if it does that or not. I used lavender EO as well, so, it's hard to determine if there was any strengthening of the scent.

Thanks for all the feedback!
