so I tried my first batch of CP soap last night. went mostly ok I was very conservative and tried a 1lb batch with no fragrance or colorant. everything went pretty well except for a few minor 'lessons learned'
1. 1lb is a small amount the stick blender wasn't able to get deep enough so I added a lot of air. I wisked it for a few minutes and that seemed to get the bubles out of the trace. we shall see how it looks in the finished product.
2. the BB bags for the oils are great - except i squeezed a little to hard and squirted coconut oil all over the table. any suggestions on how to clean up oil??
3. I need more molds :) i cant wait to make more - now with fragrance and colors

LOL soap is the best thing to clean up oil - wipe away as much as you can with paper towels and then put a bit of dish washing detergent on it and wipe with a wet cloth. That should work to get rid of most of it.

If you are making a small batch like 1 lb. I would convert that into grams for better accuracy. Use a narrow and tall container to mix in, with the width just wide enough to put your stick blender in. As far as cleaning up the oil, lots of soap and water should take care of that.
