Teach Soap

So, my disaster batch. Its a shaving soap! My first attempt. I'll list the oils I used but not the % because this is just a trial and I don't want anyone to think it works great and try it!
Tallow (beef, hard bar with creamy lather, smells AWFUL! YUCK)
Olive oil (humectant, conditions and softens skin)
Babassu Oil (adds lather)
Castor Oil (adds lather)
Pistachio butter (conditions and softens skin, lots of vitamins)
Jojoba oil (conditions and soften skin, lots of vitamins)
Sodium lactate (hard bar, humectant)
Green clay (supposedly helps renew skin cells, adds slip to the lather for easier razor glide)
Lime EO (anti-microbial properties, refreshes and renews skin)
Stud FO (smells like axe phoenix, my husband's favorite)

Will see how it turns out in a few days, but the big test will be in 6 weeks! Want a super hard bar with creamy sustainable lather and ingredients that will soothe the skin.

What do you guys think?

Sounds nice, but will the added jojoba and butter really make a difference since it won't be on the skin that long? Just curious. My shaving soap recipe is pretty basic: olive, palm, coconut and castor but it has a nice conditioning number and a good stable lather. I haven't tried it yet - just got my clay yesterday.

Carrie was asking about a shaving soap recipe a while back, and I shared some links from another forum about the stearic content "required" for the low, stable lather of shaving soaps. It's all really interesting reading. I think the number that was suggested for stearic was around 20-24 minimum. (It's all in the links.)

In alphabetical order, my shaving soap contains:

castor oil
coconut oil
olive oil
palm
palm kernel
shea butter

plus some added glycerin and kaolin clay. I really like it and my husband does too. However, he says my cream soap is tops and LOVES it. Wouldn't you know it is my least favorite to make!?!

I've thought of making cream soap but the process just seems so tedious!! Maybe one day
