Hello, I have been searching the web to see if i can use the scraps I cut off my soap bars when cutting them to the size or shape i like. I don't want to rebatch them by melting them down, I wanted to add them as small chunks when I pour a new batch, so when you cut the bars there would be different colored pockets in the bars. And if I can would it matter if it was scraps of CP and HP combined? Thanks in advance for your help.

It shouldn't make any difference. People combine CP & MP as well.

It works and makes an interesting soap. I only wish I'd scented mine but I was afraid that would be too much with all the scented scraps. Next time! Good luck with your scraps. :D

Soap Queen has a laundry soap recipe that includes soap scraps. I've used them in the past that way, with washing soda, borax, etc. Most recipes call for Fels naptha, but I just use my own scraps. It works pretty wells, and smells nice. :)

I made these with a combination of CP and MP scraps. I have some of the fondant mats ready for when I am doing MP and when I have extra I pour it onto the mat, those "embeds" sit around and wait for me to mix them up into something. This time I topped what I affectionately call "re-treads" with them.
