Teach Soap

Ok...I have been pulling my hair for most of the morning! I am playing with the Soap calculater in SoapCal and I can't seem to get a recipe with moisturizing qualities. arrghhhhh! Here is what I have entered so far:

OO 45%
CO 25%
Rice Bran 10%
Shea Butter 15%
Castor 5%

7% superfat.

Results are a hard bar but conditioning only comes in at "42" from a range of 44-69

Hmm, maybe something wasn't entered right? I plugged your recipe into SoapCalc and got

Hardness: 37
Cleansing: 17
Conditioning: 59
Bubbly: 21
Creamy: 24
Iodine: 65
INS: 141

Can you believe I just restarted the SoapCal website and re-entered everything and got your results now. I need to go take a walk!
before I go at it again and figure out how to make it a harder bar with more bubbly!

Roxana, I think you're recipe looks good the way it is. Just because the "bubbly" number seems a little low doesn't mean you won't have bubbles. With 25% coconut and 5% castor, you should be fine. I would try a small batch of this recipe before you make too many changes.

I have the Soapmaker software and double checked - the numbers SudsyFun listed are pretty close to Soapmaker's numbers.

Thank you for double checking. I went on again and entered all the weights one more time and the results was off again. I broke down and purchased the Soap Maker Lite software.

I have spent most of the morning trying to figure out how to set it up.

Thank you for your help! I was able to use one of the recipes that I had with SoapCalc to set up the software to come up with the about the same Lye/water/and superfat that I am used to

Sometimes A Mistake is so much fun, You just have to do it again!

I am loving the software! I even entered the size of my molds in it and just love how it resizes the recipes to fit into the selected mold

For some weird reason...which I can't figure out how to change yet, it converts all my oils into grams but the water and lye it shows it as ounces. Not sure why so I have to take out my handy phone app and covert it to grams and write it down on the paper.
