Teach Soap

This is what you get for being in a hurry!! I am making the Invigorating Shampoo bars from the Soap Queen site, doing them in my crock pot. Well I brought it to trace, put the lid on and it is cooking away. I am not liking the look of it and suddenly realized I had not put the 8 oz of Castor oil in. I just dumped it in and stirred it up real good but can anyone give me an idea on how this will turn out? If I put that much oil in after trace, will it be OK if I just cook it until it tests ok with Phenolphthalein? SO mad - this is potentially my first totally ruined batch and I just hate that!

Sounds like it will be fine. 8 of castor oil is a lot. How big of a batch?

think it was about 36 oz - i followed Ann Marie's recipe - I think Shampoo Bars are always heavy on Castor...

Bumping up as I still need advise on putting 8 oz of Castor oil in AFTER trace and 30 minutes into cooking in crock pot....

Haven't done this myself but soapbuddy said it should be fine. Test for zap after you unmold, or use the phenophthalein. Don't give up!
