Teach Soap

I have a number of FOs that are suitable for fall/winter/holidays: ginger orange, vanilla select (and stabilizer), clove, gingersnap, applejack peel. Are these FOs you would use singly or in combination with others? Mixing fragrances is not my strong suit. Related to that, I am curious as to what kinds of colors you associate with fall or holiday fragrances? Obviously things like brown or orange (though getting a decent orange always challenges me) but I like to swirl my soap and it seems that brown and orange might not have enough of a contrast to make it POP. Red could be nice but I have a heck of a hard time getting a true red (as opposed to pink which I get perfectly fine thankyouverymuch )

Brick red and yellow oxides are very nice for fall. Cocoa makes a good brown and orange you can make by adding a small amt of brick red to yellow oxide. You can find many blends on the internet, including Bramble Berry's website. Maybe try starting with straight Applejack Peel or straight Gingersnap so you can just worry about the colors first. Have you heard of using q-tips to try out blends? Put a drop of each potential component of your blend on its own q-tip and then put those q-tips together and sniff. You can always add another drop of a scent on its q-tip if you want that scent stronger. Put them in a baggie and let them sit an hour and sniff again. Wait 24 hours and sniff yet again. This will give you an idea of how the scents will blend together over time. It's fun and you only used a couple drops of each scent whether you loved the new scent or were disappointed. Keep good notes though or you forget just how much of each you used. Have fun! I can't wait to see what you come up with.
