Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I have looked into both but would like some insight from fellow soapers:)

What is the big difference, skin wise? Which one is preferred? Is one easier to work with(I plan on using powderd)?

Thanks

You are probably going to get a number of different answers to this one. I see no difference in coconut to goats milk. At one time I thought my coconut milk was lighter in color, but not so sure that has held up with time. I did switch to powdered goats milk awhile back and for the first 3/4 of a can loved it. Now I am having a hard time getting it to fully disolve\incorporate into my batter. I have decided to go back to liquid goats milk once this can is gone.

I'd be interested to know, too, whether the coconut milk has the same issue as dairy (cow or goat) milk when it comes to burning and discoloring.

I've used both Coconut and Goat's Milk - primarily a goat's milk soaper. I found no real difference in the way they discoloured / were used. Although it's easier to get coconut milk in a powder form where as all my goat's milk is fresh.

I prefer goat's milk soaps personally. I find them better on my skin moisturizing wise. Interestingly though I was positive my coconut milk soaps bubbled more.

I prefer goat's milk to coconut milk. The coconut milk is so full of fat that it dramatically changes the superfat and depresses the lather.

I haven't noticed much difference between the two.

If you use these, do you see it in the soap calc if it adds extra fat it would more part of the recipe than just plain water?

I don't figure it into the soap/lye calculation. I just use it as all or part of my water amount.

Same. I replace 100% water with 100% milk.
