Well, maybe it's awkward, but true. Any time when I used TD for white along with other colours, the portion with TD made my soap look grainy. The other colours don't behave like that. I don't know whether my TD is oil or water dispersable, I had tried both and it seems it works either way ,with no clumps (is that possible?).
Has anyone had this TD issue?

If I manage to cut pictures and yet not to loose my point,I will post some.

I would disperse it with some glycerin. Use a mini mixer like one of the Aerolatte frothers used for coffee.

Too much TD can cause problems from acceleration to crumbly soap. Maybe less TD would help. Good luck!

Last night I added just 1tsp ppo. I was making double milk soap (CM & oatmeal) ,added in oils, not in lye,and put 1 tsp TD in oils, too. Everything was ok until I added f.o. I know it's a TD issue, because I separated two small portions for other two colours (and both of them had f.o.in) and they were fine.
The funniest thing is that I didn't achieve any whiteness (the soap is kinda beige),probably due to milks.

Some of my earlier batches had had more TD and this grainy look had been more visible.
As for glycerin,I'd used it occasionaly, and I don't see any difference. I should make another try with f.o. that I know my TD doesn't abide.

Try a small batch with TD and no fragrance and see if that makes any difference. Milk based soaps are harder to achieve white.

Is the TD cosmetic grade?

Ok, I think it will work now. Here's the link:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/majasphoto ... hotostream

The is my last soap, the one with TD in the whole batch. TD was dissolved into the milks and poured into the warm oils. Stickblended and all was going just fine. After adding L/W- still fine. The trouble came with adding f.o. The tops are coloured (there is a picture) and scented,as well and they stayed perfectly manipulative till the end. They didn't curdle at all. I suppose that is because of small amount of TD comparing to basic, I mean prevailing colour. BTW, the soap was hanger swirled but hi,hi, who could tell? The swirled moves disappeared completely. I maybe made too many moves and blended colours, I don't know. I'd taken out just a small portions for the colours from the biggest part,so... who knows?

The violet one with the balls inside shows more apparently. The main part is with TD and f.o., the last layer with TD, but without f.o.
It's so ugly that I'm embarrassed to reveal it.

And the last, the green one, is my first successful 'hanger' swirl trial. I'm posting it, just to let you see I'm not an everlasting troublemaker!

P.S.Sorry for wrong order, I couldn't replace them and I hated to do all over again.

It looks more like what happens to soap with TD when you gel. I find if I don't gel, I don't get that crackle.

I find TD does that crackly effect when the soap has gotten a slight overheat. I gel 90% of my soaps and about 1/10 of them have those crackles. I call it "marbled" soap! :)

I've never seen my soap gel. That's because I make them late at night and afterwards go to sleep. But I do not insulate them and by the time I go to bad, what is about 2 hours later, they don't gel. The temp.was around 90,L/W even cooler. But this look appears right away,I don't wait much to see it. I maybe should try higher temperature?!
It's obvious that there is some parfume ingredient that reacts with TD.
Anyway,thanks ladies.
