Teach Soap

In general, how much do your soaps weigh after curing? I bought some kraft soap boxes recently from http://www.sunshinecontainer.com/. I believe they are pretty standard sized. I'm not sure if this picture will work. http://a248.e.akamai.net/origin-cdn.vol ... ack-2T.jpg
The dimensions are: 2-3/4" x 1-1/4" x 3-3/4"

Anyway, when they are assembled they are just a hair too small for my average sized bar. I've always made a 33 oz batch using BB 9-bar wooden slap mold. These soaps, when cured, weigh between 3.7 & 3.9 oz (105-111 g). To me, that seems a bit on the small size already. In order to use these boxes I would need to make my average size bar even smaller or squeeze them in, which IS possible but it's pretty tight.

So...I'm wondering how much your soaps weigh after curing? And if they are bigger, how do you package them?

Mine weigh on average around the 100g, but I'm going to be cutting them bigger soon. I think. I wrap my soaps in this little bag that fits it perfectly and seal with my label. I do that as I pass them out, so they are sitting open until the day they leave.

Mine weigh 4.5 ozs. after curing. I use a different mold.

I use a different mold as well, but my soaps are about 4.5 oz after curing as well.

According to BB's description on the mold it says that finished soap will be 3" long x 2" wide and up to 2" tall . So if you're pouring your soap up to 2", then it's not going to fit in those boxes.

My soap weigh 4.5-5oz roughly...and are 3.5hx3w, little bigger than normal but I don't mind. I had thought about having my husband make my next mold a little slimmer but I don't think I would be able to get my tops looking pretty than:)

I've actually been wanting to make my bars more consistent in size but my different molds make that difficult atm. They weigh around 4 oz cured weight which I like since I have small hands.

The bars I cut from my loaf molds weigh about 4.25 oz and the ones from my slab mold are closer to 4.5 oz. I label them as 4 oz since I never sell the ones that are less than 4 oz.
