Teach Soap

Made my first milk soap (Coconut Milk) yeaterday and unmolded and cut this morning. When I cut it I noticed some brightwhite spots in it and tongue tasted the spot and got zapped. Should I go ahead and try to rebatch this now or should I wait another 2 days to see if it saponify's? Also should I next time Just do half coconut milk half water and disolve my lye in the water before adding the milk? I used all coconut milk this time and it was kinda hard to tell if it was all disolved.

Sounds like lye pockets. What % superfat did you do?

If all your measurements were correct, I would try to rebatch.

I ran your recipe through soapcalc and it looks fine. As long as everything was measured correctly you shouldn't need to add any oils during the rebatch.

Its in the oven rebatching now. Even though it was very fresh soap i did drizzle some more CM on it to make sure those lye pockets had something to "eat". As long as I dont see white spots after i unmold again its fine right?

As long as it doesn't zap, it's fine.

Be aware that rebatched soap will never be as fluid as when you first started. You will most likely be glopping the soap into your mold.
