Can the crafter's choice silicone loaf molds go in the oven? Want to try and force a gel on this orange soda soap! It was SUPPOSED to gel and get super bright! *shakes fist*

The site says they can, but I prefer first hand experience!

Yes. I use that one a lot. You may want to put a towel around it also, because they dont hold heat at all.

I had a towel around it, in the warmest room of the house (75*F) on a nice insulating wooden night stand. The soap is mocking me. :? :lol:

As much as I dislike lining my wooden molds, I must say that they are much better at controlling temperature. :| I tried to force the issue on the last batch of Energy soap that I put into the silicone loaf mold and ended up scorching it. :x

I have it in the oven now. 1 hour at 170*F, then I'll turn it off and leave it in there over night.

I just got Otion's newsletter for this month, and they made a bastile in a silicone loaf mold (looked like the same as sold by BB and WSP) and noted that it didn't need to be wrapped or covered because it is self-insulating..... I don't know what kind of super pro magic wizard silicone mold they think they have buuuuutttt... yeah no, haha.

Turned out perfectly! Nice and gelled. I was able to cut it yesterday. Not sticky inside at all! And no partial gel. I kind of like CPOP... to bad there isn't room for an oven in my workshop LOL :lol:
